The Department of Justice published revised regulations for Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 "ADA" in the Federal Register on September 15, 2010. These regulations adopted revised, enforceable accessibility standards called the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design "2010 Standards". The 2010 Standards set minimum requirements – both scoping and technical – for newly designed and constructed or altered State and local government facilities, public accommodations, and commercial facilities to be readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.
Richard Acree, at ADAIN, is trained, certified, and experienced in the conduct of building inspections for accessibility compliance. Richard has over 12 years experience as a commercial building inspector, which includes accessibility compliance, and expert witness services, to combine with his BS degree in Engineering and his MS in Business Administration, to offer a unique combination of education, training, and experience in the field of building inspections. After the building inspection is complete, Richard will prepare a very thorough written Property Condition Report (PCR). The PCR will typically include an overview of the property inspection, general reference information regarding the scope of the inspection, discrepancies found during the inspection, and a recommendation on how to repair or mitigate the discrepancy. If requested, an estimate to repair the discrepancies can be included for an additional fee.
