CAPS Home Modifications Consultant Joins TN Disability Pathfinder
Richard Acree, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) home modifications consultant at ADA Inspections Nationwide, LLC, (ADAIN) has joined the Tennessee Disability Pathfinder resource directory. The services provided by ADAIN include ADA Information/Assistance and Home Rehabilitation/Repair Service.
Pathfinder is a statewide multilingual information and referral service for disability resources operated by the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center and sponsored by the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities. Pathfinder helps people of all ages, types of disabilities, and languages, and their families, educators, and other professionals, to find and access resources for home modifications to help them remain in their homes versus moving to assisted living facilities or nursing homes.
CAPS is a certification provided by the National Association of Home Builders for aging-in-place (AIP) services for home design and modifications. CAPS and AIP services offered by ADAIN include:
building inspection to identify barriers to mobility
planning the AIP home modification project
researching and helping select specialized assistive products and installations
identifying and selecting contractors, explaining best practices for design and installation of key components in AIP home design
coordinating the budget
prioritizing comprehensive solutions based on client needs, budget and urgency
working with contractors to avoid common mistakes for design and installation of AIP solutions
monitoring the project installation to ensure client needs and goals are met
